This PowerPoint presentation (with a writing assignment) has 30 slides depicting the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., from birth to his death, and his legacy. There are many photographs and some audio from his "I have a dream" speech. Students will learn about his life, his influence, and how he dreamed of a brotherhood of man. There is a writing assignment for the last slide.

this is a well put together presentation. It covers many of the main events in the life of Martin Luther King Jr. Just a small point, it mentions that the letter from birmingham jail makes an impact - but it doesn't explain what this is about. Perhaps other teachers are more familiar with this letter, but being from Ireland I would have liked to have had an explanation.

I have a total of 20 years teaching experience. After I received my M.Ed. from the University of Florida, I began teaching in elementary school, where I taught pull-out remedial classes for grades 2-5. Then I taught Pre-K for 5 years, before I decided to go up to Middle School, where I have been in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. I am currently teaching 7th grade. I am certified in Elementary Education as well as in Middle Grades in the areas of Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. I am certified as a Teacher Support Specialist. I have an endorsement in Reading K-12, and I also completed my Gifted and Talented Endorsement.
