This is a great project that links to the 3rd grade Massachusetts curriculum. It asks students to select a famous Massachusetts person, create fact cards and a puppet of their person. There are project requirements and a rubric included. It is a wonderful way to focus on these important people in Massachusetts' history.
This was a huge success with my third graders. Love every component: clarity of directions, parent acknowledgement slip, and rubric. Great way to tie social studies curriculum to ELA, practicing main idea and supporting details while researching a historical person from MA. I look forward to purchasing more top notch materials from you. Thank you for this quality product!
So glad this project was helpful to you and your third graders! My third graders enjoy doing this project as well. You should check out the Massachusetts Travel Brochure Project I have posted too. It focuses on state symbols, and local history. I do that project in the beginning of the year.

I have taught for many years in a variety of different grades. I have a degree in elementary / special education, and have taught in both an inclusion regular education classroom and a resource room setting.
