This math autobiography is an excellent way to get to know your students on the first day of school! It is a way for them to express their feelings to you about math, including their fears and their shining math moments. It also gives them a chance to make predictions and set goals for the upcoming school year. I learned a lot from my students by having them fill this out as their very first homework assignment of the year. They seemed to enjoy being able to tell me about themselves, too. :)
I plan to use this in the fall! I'm currently working on a way to display it along with the students' personal mandalas. Thanks so much! Great job!

This has been a great beginning of the year activity. I glue the finished product on a piece of construction paper and hang up. It is a colorful and fun bulletin board for back-to-school night.

I currently teach Pre-Algebra, Algebra, and Geometry to 7th and 8th graders in the Northern suburbs of Chicago.
