*Updated on 6/25/12 to add a customizable blank addition math contract for you to fill in our own activities! :)

As an upper elementary level teacher, I have witnessed first hand how frustrating it can be to introduce topics like addition with two, three, or four digits, and have students struggle with the concept because they have not mastered their math facts.

The included math contracts serve as a weekly homework assignment for your students to help supplement math fluency practice in class, and will help both you and your students when higher level concepts including addition are introduced. Talk about a win win!

Included in this download are four leveled math contracts that get your students excited to master their facts. Through a variety of games and links to engaging websites, these math contracts make the process of mastering their math facts FUN for your students, and their families.
Math Contract Included:
-Basic Contract, can be used for general practice of addition facts
-Sums to 10 Contract, focuses on mastering addition facts to 10
-Sums to 12 Contract, focuses on mastering addition facts to 12
-Sums to 18 Contract, focuses on mastering addition facts to 18
-Blank contract that allows you to fill in your own activities.

Hi!

Is there anyway I can see a closer example? I LOVE the idea but would like to know what exactly it is.

Crossing my fingers,
Danielle :)

So after reading your blogpost about homework I've been searching the Internet for something like this. When do you suppose you'll have the subtraction ready? I want to use these for my homework as well. Also what did you use for in class math fluency practice?

I have the rough framework of subtraction ready, and will be posting it soon. In class, I use a variety of things for practice, such as quiz, quiz trade with fact flashcards for brain breaks, dice games, my subtraction spinner games http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Surfs-Up-Subtraction-Spinner-Games-Common-Core-Aligned, and a program that a math coach in our district developed that I'm unable to share. I will be using a rocket math next year in fourth grade for multiplication and division. I hope this helps!
