This project is a spectacular way for students to review concepts you have taught in Math class for the school year. Ideally, you would give each group (of four) a different chapter of the textbook that they can create a board game for. You choose the number of game cards and what should be covered exactly. Students will have fun creating the game, while reviewing important skills you covered all year long. It should take about a week to create. Once they are done, you can have game days in your class. As students play each other's games, they are reviewing the curriculum from the year. It would be an excellent way to prepare for Midterm or Final exams. It can also be used to reinforce material learned every three chapters or so. This could also be done as the beginning of the year activity covering what they should "already know". There are many possibilities. The assignment sheet is clear and the rubric is there for students to see how they will be graded.
