An independent math center to practice measuring objects using a ruler and a yardstick
Using a ruler or a yardstick, students will measure various objects that can be found within the classroom. They will compare their answers with another student, and then graph their results to determine which object was the tallest, the shortest, and the widest.

I have taught in public schools for 15 years. I have experience in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade, but have also worked with children in K, 4th, and 5th. I spent two years teaching a bilingual class, and four teaching ESL. Two evenings a week, I teach as an adjunct professor at the local university; working with pre-service teachers and teachers continuing their education on how to incorporate second language strategies into their classroom instruction.
