This is a very detailed PowerPoint of how Meiotic Cell Division and Punnett Squares are related. If you don't mind spending a little extra time teaching these topics then this is a great tool!! This activity supports Grade Seven California State Science Standard 2D - Students know plant and animal cells contain many thousands of different genes and typically have two copies of every gene. The two copies (or alleles) of the gene may or may not be identical, and one may be dominant in determining the phenotype while the other is recessive and Grade Seven California State Science Standard 2B - Students know sexual reproduction produces offspring that inherit half their genes from each parent.

I taught Math my first year and have been teaching 7th Grade Life Science for 12 years... I absolutely love it! The California 7th Grade curriculum is my favorite! I am also the ASB advisor and the Tech Coordinator. I have attended many conferences and workshops with the intention of looking for better and more interesting lessons. I have completed two years of character education training and was a coach/mentor for the teachers at my school that were going through their first year of character education training.
