This 4-6 week study will challenge your students to memorize the names of all the presidents in order! They will feel a great sense of accomplishment after rising to this challenge! It requires little class time (if desired) and can be incorporated into any curriculum at any point in the year. It is an excellent opportunity for students to develop their study habits/skills outside of class, leaving only the assessment to be completed during class time about once a week for 4-6 weeks. Included in this resource are the following materials: 1) a fill-in page for students to record the names of the presidents in order so that they can study them successfully, 2) three quizzes, 3) one test, 4) an answer key, 5) an alphabetical list of the presidents for students to use as a name bank during the assessments, and 6) a page full of ideas to take the challenge to the next level! (This resource will be updated after the elections of 2012.)
I love this lesson plan and wanted to thank you for creating an exciting way to help my students learn about our US presidents. I can't wait for school to begin so that I can challenge my students with your materials. Thanks again.
