Can you change the topics on the Lingo boards? Any other ideas you have for in-service meetings? Thanks.

Hi, Doodster. Thanks for the note. Unfortunately you cannot change the captions on the Lingo board in the current version because the text is hard coded in, but if I get around to working on the program again, I'll see what I can do. Anything in particular you wanted in the squares instead of what is there? Nothing else I can bring to these meetings (except a nice soft pillow).

Hi. The four multiple choice tests are the same questions, but arranged differently, so they can be used in different classes or at different times without fear students are collecting answers. The multiple choice questions are just randomly selected from the entire work, so it would be best to use it at the end of the reading.

Al B,
Does the Computerized Election Ballot Advisor allow student log in voting, so each student can vote only once? I need something with this capability.

Reply by: Albert Baggetta (s)
Yes, there is a lock on the program after a student has voted. Students do not need to log in. A table is set up at the start of the election with class lists and student workers check off student who come to vote -- kind of a registration. I had each machine monitored by a worker student who reset the program with a key combination after each student voted.

Hello There,
recently bought your lesson plan, but could not unzip it. I have a mac and I sent an e-mail asking how to obtain this lesson, but was given a site to download a zip program which required that I submit personal information and credit card #. I choose not to submit my personal info or CC, is there a way for you to send me this lesson plan?
Thank you

Hi, Morgan. Scramble My Words for Windows PC is only for PC. We do not have a Mac Version yet. The computer was probably suggesting that you download the demo version of WinZip which is free and good enough to unzip a Windows file -- no credit card is required. If you can't use the Windows version of the program you can drop a note to Paul on this site and ask for a refund. Hope this helps.

Hi, Heather. It is a stand alone program. I might point out (as indicated in the description) that the program is being reworked because of some flaws in the program that make it slow down when a large number of books are entered. It's ok if you only have about 100 - 150 books or so, but after that you will notice a slowdown of the program. The new version won't be ready for a while, but it will be scaled down to make it less bulky. When I have it done I'll post it here on the board, but it too will be a stand alone program intended for individual teacher use.
Thank you for your interest

You are granted a single user license, which means that you can install it on as many computers under your supervision. For example if you you have a lab in which you will be using the program you can install it on all of those machines. Generally, the programs can be use on any machines under your supervision.
Hope this answers the question.

Mr. Bagetta, I purchased your Match-A-Rama Make Quick Matching Tests for $2.00. Your product description lists it as usable with any subject. However, when I downloaded it and opened it, it posts an author/works quiz and that is all I can do with it. Am I using it incorrectly or is your product description misleading? If the $2.00 only purchases the author quiz, I would like my money back. Thanks for getting back to me. Heather Kem

Hi, Heather. Thanks for the note. I don't try to mislead anyone with my descriptions. The instructions that come with the program explain how to make your own quiz base by opening the text file and changing the questions and answers, if you are using the older version. If you are using the newer version you can still make up your own list and then open it in the program. If you didn't get the instructions, please send me a note at my email address abaggetta@comcast.net and I'll send them to you by attachment. Also, indicate which version of the program you are using Windows, Mac, or Linux.

HI, I purchased the match a rama. I can't resave the file back to the program directory. It keeps saying I can't do it. Where's the multiple choice program located?
Posted on: November 1, 2008
Reply by: Albert Baggetta (s)
Hi, Tiffany. To create a new file, follow the direction in the documentation included. QuizList.txt is the file that is used by the program that contains your questions. Alter this as needed and then resave it to the directory. You should be able to do this with no problem. Then when you run the program again, it will have your questions. I'm not sure what you mean by multiple choice, since this is a matching test generator. If you are still experiencing problems, please get back to me with more details about the problem.

I bought your product. It would not download; I apparently do not have zip drive. Now I have accidentally closed the program. I cannot find the download option. Do you have this without zip?
Posted on: October 4, 2008
Reply by: Albert Baggetta (s)
Hi, Dgrebe. You don't need a zip drive to use the program, but your machine must have winzip installed on it to unpack the file. This is used because a packed file will contain many files (such as this one). Most new Windows PCs have Winzip already on them and all you have to do is double click the file you download and Winzip takes over giving you instructions. You can get WinZip for free as a trial from winzip.com, install it on your machine and then use it to unzip files from this site and many others, including mine. I can send you the files individually if you like, but it will take some time. If you send me an email at abaggetta@comcast.net, I can try sending them to you, but if you can unzip the package you have it would be easier. TPT allows you to download the package for an extended period of time. In any event, let me know what you would like me to do.

Hi, Kathryn. Thanks for the question. It seems that TPT is having problems with some picture files bouncing back to the title page. Also, I'm in the process of replacing old images which seem to bounce with new images that will work. Which item were you having a problem with, specifically, I can probably fix that so you can see it.

Hi, Dave. Good questions. I assume you are talking about the Multiple Choice Test Maker. There are two ways to add images to the questions. After creating the test you can copy and paste images under the questions. Also you can copy the entire text, paste it into a word processor and add your images if you like. Hope this answers the question. Since I only check this QA once in a while, if you have further questions, please send them to me via email at abaggetta@comcast.net.

Hi Albert,
I purchased your multiple choice test maker last month and really like it.
There is a problem I am having though, and am wondering if you have an updated version.
I use the random question and answers option and whenever I have it print out just the letter answers (instead of the words) there are some errors. I have made 5 versions of a test and each one has several letters wrong on the key (ranges from 1-7 on a 50 question test).
It also looks pretty random, never the same error or the same problem number. I have gone back to the database to make sure the answers were not entered in the wrong spots and the database is fine.
When I generate the test and have it print out the words instead of the letters I think (?) it is fine (well I've tried it once and it was perfect).
I'd really like to just be able to print out the letters or the letters next to the words at least just to save time when I am filling in the keys.
Is this something you have encountered before?
Thank you for your time.
