This product comes with 36 task cards. They can be used to play Scoot (directions included) or in a center.
Each card has a sentence with either a simile or metaphor. The student's job is to determine which type of figurative language is used and then determine which two items are being described.
A recording sheet is included.
Common Core Standards: L.4.5. L.5.5. {Figurative language is included in the common core starting at 1st grade, but doesn't specifically address similes and metaphors until 4th grade.}

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I taught preschool (ages 3-5) for 4 years. I'm going into my 2nd year of teaching in the public school systems. Last year, I taught 2nd grade in a high poverty area. Next year, I will be looping with my students to 3rd grade. I love my job and feel fortunate to be able to enjoy my work.
