Using the midpoint formula to find the midpoint of line segments given the two endpoints. Also, two methods, including an easier short-cut method (not found in any textbooks I've seen) for finding the second endpoint, given one endpoint and the midpoint. Lesson handout clearly illustrates the midpoint in a visual way, and includes detailed examples.

Pages 1-2 are a lesson handout that clearly and concisely articulates how to find the midpoint of a line segment given the two endpoints. Also, two methods are described to find the second endpoint, given one endpoint and the midpoint. One of these methods is much easier than the algebraic method shown in most textbooks. Also, examples are given with clear and detailed solution showing all steps.
Page 3 is a 9-question worksheet with room for student work. Worksheet includes standard midpoint problems (finding a midpoint given two endpoints of a line segment), problems in which students need to find the second endpoint given the first endpoint and the midpoint, and a more complex problem involving the midpoints of the diagonals of a parallelogram.
Page 4 is a second 9-question worksheet with room for student work. Worksheet includes standard midpoint problems (finding a midpoint given two endpoints of a line segment), problems in which students need to find the second endpoint given the first endpoint and the midpoint, and a more complex problem involving the midpoints of the diagonals of a parallelogram.
