Looking for a fun way to get your kids thinking about characteristics and details in their reading?
This is a fun card game doing just that!
The game area can be created or drawn on a white board. There will be six lines in a vertical line. Each has a point value. The goal is to guess the word on the card using the least amount of clues to win the most amount of points. (Game instructions included)
The cards have a word at the top. Then there are three colored boxes. Six words are found in each box. Each word is a characteristic or description of the word on the card. The first box is much more general and the words become much more specific as you go down the boxes. Students must choose only two from each box to best describe in hopes of their team guessing the word. As clues are added, points are lost! So choose carefully!

This is my 7th year teaching the 5th grade. I have been lucky enough to work in the most amazing campus. I teach reading in a departmentalized campus in the upper elementary grades and I am enjoying it! Reading is a passion of mine!
