This very clever idea to create ten-frames with monthly items is a masterpiece in thinking! I know that students need to develop that picture of what a number looks like when compared to 10 and to 5. This relationship helps number relationships develop more quickly. Unfortunately, the 5-frame, 10-frame idea is not usually taught very well within our math series and I think many teachers do not grasp the importance of this understanding to build fluency and flexibility when working with numbers. I am so excited to use our 10frame items each month next school year. I think the repetition of the activity and the uniqueness of each item will keep everyone's attention and hopefully build better understanding of number relationships. Thank you so much!
