These moon phase diagrams are designed to display the moon in relationship with the earth and sun in each of its eight phases.
This activity has three options to use for students to learn about the phases of the moon.
~ The first activity asks students to draw and label the moon phases on a simple diagram.
~ The second activity asks students to draw and label the moon phases on a more complex diagram.
~ The third diagram is the simplest. Students cut out the moon shapes and match them to their names then glue them to the worksheet.

This is a bit confusing because I think you are using black to show how much moon you see, rather than black to show the shadow on the moon? To me, this looks a little backwards because of that. At first, I thought it was actually incorrect. You may want to change this to an outline of the moon instead?
I'm so glad you contacted me! I've been meaning to update that file and you reminded me that I needed to get the revised copy uploaded. Please redownload this item and tell me what you think. I've added some new diagrams to the activity too. I hope you like it. Thanks again! [You were right about the moon phase color being reversed. I no longer have that diagram on the worksheets.] :)
