Sorting words into alphabetical order to the second letter on this sheet produces silly sentences that students write and then must punctuate. (If you have not downloaded my free practice of this kind, you can find it titled "ABC Order Fun"). I have them illustrate their 4 favorite sentences on folded 11X18 drawing paper. My students enjoy this enough to easily work independently while I have reading groups. Very quick and easy to grade because it's obvious if the words make a sentence.
