This is a 20 page workbook which consists of 9 recipes written as reading comprehension passages. Each reading passage contains a recipe for a no-cook snack and 4 to 5 multiple choice comprehension questions related to the passage. Students can read the passage, create the recipe independently, and answer the questions. Passages are written at approximately a 2nd to 3rd grade reading level, and are great for test prep, center activities, or life skills classes. Please download the free preview offering to determine whether the reading level is appropriate for your classroom needs. Recipes include Autumn Leaves, Bagel Raccoons, Parts of a Spider, Christmas Decorations, Lighthouses, Conversation Hearts, Pistachio Pudding, Erupting Volcanoes, and Trail Mix. Recipes involve simple, easy to find ingredients which can be substituted to allow for food allergies. Further recipes and reading passages can be found in my other products "Recipes for Reading Comprehension", "Recipes for Reading Comprehension, Volume 2", and "Recipes for Reading Primary" (geared toward younger or lower functioning students). All recipe selection/comprehension questions are also available individually through my Teachers Pay Teachers store. Answer key included. by Rebecca Bettis

I have been a special education teacher since 1998. I currently teach a self-contained cross categorical class of 3rd through 5th graders. I have also taught k-6 resource classes and self-contained classes in the past. I currently teach in North Carolina, but I taught for 4 years in Texas.
