With this title your students will create "flip books" that will allow them to quickly learn to read basic rhyming word families! Each mini-booklet is on a single piece of paper for ease of use! The students color in the picture cue, cut out the letter cards and staple them together to create a booklet in which the letters are "flipped" up to create a new word each time.
For example, for the "ing" book the students read "king." They flip up the letter "k" to reveal another letter. They then read "sing." This continues with bring, cling, sting, string, thing, wing and ring to give them nine everyday words from the same rhyming family.
There are booklets for the following families: -all -ank, -ar, -are, -ay, -ear, -ent, -est, -ill, -ing, -ink, -ow (row), -ow (cow), -own and -ust.
This book also includes a checklist to keep track of the progress of the students, allowing them to work at their own level and speed.
