This is a set of 3 activity sheets to accompany the Phonics Library story "Mother's Day Parade on Park Street" from the Houghton Mifflin® reading program. New! Revised in February 2011 to include writing skills as tested on state tests and benchmark tests! These are great activities for independent work during universal access time. The sheets for this story cover the following skills: synonyms/antonyms, personal connections, writing skills, syllables, nouns, verbs, and adjectives, subject/predicate, cause/effect, main idea, author's purpose, fact/opinion, matching skills, plurals, proper nouns, sentence types, punctuation and quotation marks, contractions, and possessives. In my classroom, the children complete these during independent work time, then we check answers together. They love doing them!
