Mrs. Riddle's Independent Reading Response Project and Grading Rubric for Fiction

Draw out student's creativity and ingenuity by allowing them choice on how to present their individual learning! Mrs. Riddle's Independent Reading Response Projects can be used as a great end of the quarter assessment piece that will please teachers and students alike! The project outline showcases three options for student to choose from to show what they've learned from their independent reading book. It is coupled with a detailed assessment rubric for teachers to use to easily assess the students quarterly final project. Each response project pairs independent activities with the genre focus for the quarter (fiction, non-fiction, biographies, or student's choice). This can be paired with Mrs. Riddle's Independent Reading Response Journals, which prepare the students for the final project by focusing their attention on vocabulary and comprehension skills in specific independent reading books by award-winning authors.
