This packet includes step-by-step instructions for teaching the Dolch 220 sight words using a multi-sensory approach. The term "multi-sensory" means using the different senses simultaneously. Using this approach to teaching sight words increases the likelihood that the students will remember the words. It is particularly helpful for teaching struggling readers. Multi-sensory templates and flashcards for all words are included. Since these are hands on activities, you will need to gather materials such as Play-Doh prior to teaching. A list of suggested materials, as well as directions for using the materials within the lesson, are provided.

The words included are the Dolch 220 words. You can google the Dolch 220 and find the list or you can click on assessment in my store and there is a free Dolch sight word assessment and it has all the words in it. All my sight word activities align with that assessment. Hopes this helps. Julie

I am a RtI Coordinator working closely with K-3rd grade teachers providing hands-on support and professional development in the area of reading. My focus is using assessment data to guide classroom instruction as well as intervention for at-risk learners.
