This is a fun beginning of the year activity to really engage students and empower them in all their learning styles. Use this PowerPoint as a guide to make mini glyphs (each will be very unique, just as your students!) I give each student a small blank body template, then pull out construction paper, markers, scissors, glue, etc. as they create their "person" according to the clues on the slides. This makes a wonderful back to school night display on the wall and provides endless math connections with comparisons, fractions, percents as students compare how they are similar and different from their peers. Enjoy!
I love the glyph idea and this one especially because it helps me so much to understand my students. I will use it earlier in the school year next year. Thanks so much for your work.

With so many great things, I didn't end up using this one this year, but I'm glad it's in my toolkit.
