This powerpoint presentation discusses multiple meaning words and how to use a dictionary to identify the correct meaning. The powerpoint was used in a third grade class to teach part of ELA standard RW 1.7. The powerpoint features 12 slides in the Explicit Direct Instruction format. Slides include: learning objective, importance, concept development, skill development, guided practice, and closure. Format of questions match how the skill is tested on the CST. I also have an independent practice page called dictionary skills that I have posted.

I would have to agree with Rachel. I wish there were more practice sentences, but this will be a great intro. Thank you for the freebie!!!

This is a great introduction to multiple meanings! I wish there were more practice sentences, but this is a decent beginning for a lesson, especially for ESL students. Thanks for the freebie! :)
