This is an Adobe PDF file type. You will need 5.0 or higher to access this file. Download my free preview file and try printing a page or two before you purchase to see if this is for you. If you decide to purchase this product, you are purchasing a personal and single classroom use only. It is not to be shared with other teachers you work with. Your colleagues are free to purchase from me as well. There are two credit lines on each function table. The credit lines are for the artist and myself. I have used a small sized font on the credit lines and it is my policy not to remove these.
This product partially meets the Common Core State Standards under third grade's Operations and Algebraic Thinking. It targets the multiplication objective for 3.OA.5. Important: This partially meets the standard. If you are looking for a complete unit on multiplication, this center is not intended for that purpose.
The purpose of this learning center is to review a random collection of multiplication facts. It is intended to improve speed and accuracy with multiplication tables previously taught by the teacher. It does not include every multiplication table or fact. This center is designed as an activity for early finishers or any time math learning centers are used in the classroom. You may want to purchase adhesive fasteners for this activity as I did however the center can work without them. Detailed directions with photos are included in the packet. It is important that you read all the directions before getting started on assembling the center.
This is an unconventional approach in that there are no multiplication symbols or equals signs presented. The word Multiply is at the top of each function table. Students solve the multiplication facts in horizontal and vertical form using the numeral cards provided. There are a total of twelve function tables and each one has its own set of numerals to match the frames within the function table. There is an oddball numeral with each colored set of numerals. The oddball numeral can be used or discarded. There are twelve small multiplication posters that say I Can Multiply. The posters are a match to the function tables with the answers revealed. These can be used by the students to self check their work. Two student accountability worksheets are included for the students to record their answers as they complete the center. Teacher answer keys are included for the student accountability sheets and a sheet for the teacher to collect student data from the activity is included as well. This is a great center for children to complete with a buddy or as a take-home packet. Students will need to know the following facts for successful completion of this center:
0 x 0, 0 x 1, 0 x 2, 1 x 2, 1 x 3, 1 x 5, 1 x 7, 1 x 8, 1 x 10, 2 x 2, 2 x 3, 2 x 4, 2 x 30, 3 x 1, 3 x 2, 3 x 3, 3 x 4, 3 x 8, 3 x 9, 4 x 2, 4 x 3, 4 x 9, 5 x 1, 5 x 8, 6 x 6, 6x 8, 6 x 10, 7 x 1, 7 x 8, 8 x 3, 8 x 6, 8 x 7, 8 x 9, 9 x 2, 9 x 3, 9 x 4, and 9 x 8.
If any of your numerals from this set become lost or damaged, simply print another one. That's the beauty of a digital download!
