These addition and multiplication fact practice games are perfect for centers, homework, or in-class math partner activities. The Common Core State Standards (CCSS) specify that students must be fluent (fast and accurate) with mathematical facts in all four operations by the end of grade 3. These math KITs are a fun way to help students master addition and multiplication.
This item is a bundle of my Multiplication KITs and Addition KITs. Please visit those pages for a full product description and to download previews.
Note that the multiplication and addition KITs feature the SAME GAMES with only minor adaptations. I recommend using the addition KITs during the first semester and multiplication KITs in the second semester. I've found that students enjoy playing familiar games and seeing them adapted for different operations. Another bonus that comes from using the same games for addition and multiplication is that you will need to spend very little time creating the second set of KITs because you will already have all the materials gathered. Introducing the games to students and teaching them how to care for the KITs the second time around will also be much quicker.
To make the KITs, you'll need to print the items in this download and gather some basic materials (like flashcards, dice, counters, and playing cards.) A full list of items needed is listed in the preview version of the product, and in the full version, everything is also spelled out clearly for you with photographs and detailed instructions.

I just purchased this bundle and started using the addition KITs with my third graders. It took me a few hours over a couple of days to get everything together but my students are really enjoying them! Plus I know I can keep them and use them in future years. I liked how the game instructions were in a Word document so I could modify the directions or manipulatives included easily. We've started using them in class and I'm looking forward to sending them home soon.

Thanks so much for giving detailed feedback! You're right that setting up a complete system with ten weeks' worth of games does take some advance prep time--in the instructions (which can be viewed in the product preview), I shared that it took me 2 hours to get everything set up. And just like you said, it's a one-time investment that should pay off for years to come as you use the KITs with future classes. I'm so glad your students are enjoying the games, and that you found it easy to adapt them for their needs. Thanks again for sharing your feedback and experience!

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Subject Area:
I was classroom teacher for eleven years, working first in Washington, D.C., and then in South Florida. In 2009, I started conducting literacy and math coaching for teachers for grades PreK-8, and added instructional technology coaching to the mix beginning in 2011.
I'm currently an Educational Consultant based in New York City. When I'm not conducting professional development in schools, I'm either working as an Educational Content Developer for BrainPOP or blogging and creating teacher resources.
