I wish I could show you a picture of a project I received about five years ago when I first created this assessment. It is truly a work of art and hangs in my kitchen at home today.
The juxtaposition of artistic license and specific requirements makes this assignment/project an exercise in both exploring multiple intelligences and in critical thinking.
In my experience, My Antonia is not a novel widely taught which is unfortunate. If you are looking to introduce more 19th century American women writers into your curriculum, I encourage you to check out this novel by Willa Cather!
This novel is a fine accompaniment to the study of Feminist Criticism. See my preview of Teaching Literary Criticism on this site.
