I am interested in your classroom library program but I have a couple questions. You say it works better with small libraries. Can you define small? 50, 100, 500? Is the program offered here the new version? I see your comments below are from 2009. If I buy the old version will I get a discount on the new version when it is available? Thank you for your time.

Hi, Pam. This is a dicontinued version of My Classroom Library. It is available because some people liked the idea of putting pictures with the book titles, but unfortunately we found that it bogged the program down when you exceed 150 or so books. The newest version is available at our website at the following page. This is a more stable program and you can put 1000 books in the collection.

Hi Al! I'm wondering if your classroom library software is a stand-alone app or needs MS Access or Excel in order to run. My options are limited so this is important before I buy. Looks great! Thanks in advance for the info

Hi, Heather. It is a stand alone program. I might point out (as indicated in the description) that the program is being reworked because of some flaws in the program that make it slow down when a large number of books are entered. It's ok if you only have about 100 - 150 books or so, but after that you will notice a slowdown of the program. The new version won't be ready for a while, but it will be scaled down to make it less bulky. When I have it done I'll post it here on the board, but it too will be a stand alone program intended for individual teacher use.

I taught English (grades 9 - 12) for 36 years in public schools. I have also taught basic computer courses for adults as part of our schools senior evening school program. In addition I was advisor to Student Government and election programs at our school and have been involved with establishing technology goals for our secondary school system.
