I searched and searched for just the right sheets for the children's binders and was blown away by your packet!!! I plan on using this next year, but I noticed the standards are lightly different for me. Pennsylvania changed the common core standards slightly from the National common core standards and it is not completely the same. Is there any way for an editable version of this product?

I am interested in buying this packet but would like a little closer look at some of your pages that go in the notebook. On the last page of the preview you have several examples but they are small and blurry. I want to make sure what I am buying will be useful to me. Would it be possible to put one or two full pages so they appear clear? You can put a preview stamp in the middle, I don't intend to print them but would like to see what I am buying before I spend the money.

Thanks for the response. I am just a little hesitant using this packet in my class. I am afraid that I might send a wrong message. I realize that you have probably put in ridiculous amount of time into making these packets, but in all fairness, I did not expect that all of the characters would be fair skinned. The graphics are an intrical part of what makes this packet student-friendly. I think that your works are amazing and you create works that teachers desire. I absolutely love the labels! I am using them to organize my teacher's guide, so I will know which standard to use with the notebooks. The icons for each standard is what sets your labels apart from other labels. The little girl with the books is for Reading Foundations and the little boy with the books is for Reading Literature. With that being said, I found a few typos on the reading foundations labels starting with standard 1.3. It is saying RL instead of RF. When you go to fix it, I have a request if possible. I'm finding I need several of some standards and not as many of others. Is it possible to add an option of printing one standard per sheet to your package? This would be great for teachers to use when coding teacher's guides to align with your notebooks. I like the current set to give one set each to my students. This way I know they have documented all the standards once their labels are gone and no papers to loose. By the way, the sets of the tickets with lines labels that are to be glued on, I printed a few of them on 8 1/2 by 11 shipping labels. I then cut out the icons and peeled off the backs and put them on the inserts provided on the page dividers for the notebooks to create matching tab dividers. It looks great!

Wow Michelle...thank you! These downloads were huge and I had others proofread but we missed that. I will fix it and send out a correction email as soon as I get home from school today. THANK YOU! :) I know what you mean about needing more standards than others. I have printed several sets where I've used many of one standard and not others. I am hoping that by the end of the year it should balance out. Please know that I would love to have a page of labels for each standard but MB limits won't allow me to have that many images/pages even if I reduce file sizes or place them in a zip file. It would be a massive sized download. I will continue to try to figure something out where we can do this. Thank you again!-Yvonne

Just wondering if you have put any more thought into creating a Common Core Notebook for Kindergarten. The Kindergarten teacher at my school loves the one I have and was interested in purchasing one for herself. I know just she loves the I Can checklists and the little tickets. She probably wouldn't use the whole notebook, like as you said, Kinders are pretty young for that but at least for herself to use other things you put in the packet that are so beneficial. How do you assess these standards. Do you have summative assessments for each standard that you put in the portfolios, examples of student mastery? I have to show student mastery examples. This file that i just bought is cute, but i was hoping there were assessments for each standard included.

Thank you for your question. I really do want to help you and am sorry you thought tests came with the portfolio. Assessment would be a completely different packet because it would include all of the components you listed above (pretesting, anchor papers for samples of grade level work and summative tests.) The purpose of the notebook is to provide you a framework or system for your kiddos to organize and file what they do day to day (daily work, projects, quizzes, summative tests, etc...) by standards and domains as evidence of learning. Its design simplifies coding of standards and allows you to incorporate the EQ cards, word wall cards, recording sheets, etc... into assessments you already use. The "I Can" checklists are helpful to keep track of the standards that you've assessed or your students have mastered. Again, I am sorry you thought tests were included but I do hope you can use the notebook.
