Dear Lynn, Thanks for the scale. I'm sure they will be immensely helpful in the classroom. I found a typo though: Green 'one' on page three. At present it says, "I can work quietly with bothering others, it should say 'without'.

Thank you so much for sharing these pages! Each year it seems I get 1 or 2 students in my mainstream classes who are somewhere on the Autism spectrum. I came up with something similar for what the student can do when he/she feels anxious or is losing control, but I like the colors you used on a range of self-control. Thanks for providing the explanations and both the filled-in example behavior chart and the blank one. Your work will get lots of use in my class! (Sorry so long!)

I began teaching more than twenty years ago and have taught special and general education classes, at the elementary and secondary levels. Currently I serve as a special education program specialist in a public school district, providing consultation support to both special and general education teachers of students with special needs. As a consultant I spend much of my time assisting our teachers to implement positive behavior supports within their classrooms in order to meet the needs of all of their students, but particularly those who demonstrate significant social, emotional and behavioral challenges.
