Studying the Newbery winners for 1980-1989?
I use this presentation. I do a Book Talk on each book, and when I get to a book that some of the students know, they love to add their views of the book!

1987: The Whipping Boy
1986: Sarah Plain and Tall
1985: The Hero and the Crown
1984: Dear Mr. Henshaw
1983: Dicey's Song
1982: A Visit to William Blake's Inn
1981: Jacob Have I Loved
1980: A Gathering of Days

I like introducing the books this way, so I don't have to hold all the books until I teach this to all of my classes. This way, the students can sign the books out and start reading them.

I also use these as Printables - handouts for various projects, and even for colorful bulletin boards!
