The Liberty Bell lesson is aligned with the Core Standards, fostering Literacy in History and Social Studies for 1st-3rd grade students.
At the same time that students are learning about the history of the Liberty Bell, they are meeting the Common Core Standards for English Language Arts by:
strengthening vocabulary, decoding skills, and comprehension of informational text
following written directions to strengthen comprehension of functional text
using picture cues to construct historical time lines
We've even included a color version of the lesson for your White Board, black line masters for your students, and grading rubrics for the higher-level activities.
