Easy and ready to use unit project!
In this project, students put together a ‘Native American Museum’ by each creating an ‘artifact.’ They must choose a tribe and a specific fact (ex: The IROQUOIS Indians lived in LONGHOUSES). They then will choose a project to do from the list provided (some projects include: create a poster, create a model, create a scrapbook, create a brochure, etc…) Student present their projects at the end of the assignment. As each student presents, there is a chart that the class will fill out. Each audience member will write down one fact they learned from each presentation.
This project can be done at home, as a school/home combination, or in art class.
Bonus: Set up a ‘museum’ in the gym, auditorium, or cafeteria and allow other classes to visit it. (Another variation would be to have this project be displayed on a PTA or parent visitation day…a great marketing opportunity for your class!)
This packet includes:
- a project planning sheet to help your students plan their project
- a grading sheet to make evaluation easy for YOU
- a parent letter that can go home to explain your new project
- a presentation sheet that students will fill out as their classmates present
Each sheet can easily be adapted to fit your specification and standards.
