See how creative your students can be as they work their way through Bloom's Taxonomy using the Iroquois and Cherokee creation myths. This project is a great starter project for any US History class. It is a teacher tested, student approved project. I have been assigning this project for thirteen years now.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Grades Taught:

After graduating with my MAT in 1992, I finished the year at a laboratory school on the campus of East Tennessee State University where I taught 8th grade US History and 12th Government. I spent three years at Coulwood Middle School in Charlotte, NC and taught 8th grade US/NC history. I moved to Davidson International Baccalaureate Middle School in Charlotte and taught 8th grade US/NC history for five years. From there, I taught US and APUSH for a year at Hopewell High School in Charlotte. I left there to be the US History Lead Teacher for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools for a year and a half. I decided to get back in the classroom, so I moved to teach at Virginia High School for a year and a half in Bristol, VA. From there I moved to teach 8th grade US history at Sulphur Springs Elementary School near Johnson City, TN, for four years. Finally, I have taught 8th grade US history at Ridgeview Elementary School for the last year and a half.
