Looking for an easy foldable early emergent reader that your students can help 'write' and then read with confidence and pride?
Need 2 versions for the differing abilities in your class?
Here it is!
This is modeled off my original New Year foldable emergent reader that can be found here:
New Year Early Emergent Foldable Reader
The version above has the words already provided and students fill in the missing year.
This set allows for students to sound-spell the picture they see on one version and the second version just has a blank. Students can just sound spell a label for the picture and/or write an entire sentence!
This Pack Includes:
*2 versions of a foldable pattern early emergent reader
about what you see for a New Year celebration (8 pages total)!
*Book is a ‘Level A’ (by most leveling system guidelines)
*Uses sight words “I,” “see,” “a,” “the” & “is” or write in your own sentence!
*Space provided for students to write in the New Year and sound spell for pictures
( allows for you to be able to use year after year without ever ‘expiring!’)
or they can write their own sentence!
*Simple to use! Just print, fold, write in & read!
~Can even teach students how to make books & it makes a great make-a-book literacy center!
*No cutting/stapling required
(can tack with a staple if you feel your students need it but book works great without it)!
*will instill confidence & pride in young readers!
*Aligns with Readers Workshop Unit 4 (pattern readers) and Common Core Standards:
RLK.1, RL.K.5, RL.K.10, RF.K.1, RF.K.2, RF.K.3, RF.K.4
*great for guided reading groups, reading book bags/baskets, buddy reading & so much more!
*allows students to independently ‘write’ and read a book about New Years!
*B&W line art can be colored to make personalized-
project book pages on Eno/Smartboard for a Shared Writing & Reading experience!
