This is a set of math activities that can be completed using a newspaper. The newspaper mathathon and scavenger hunt allows students to understand the set up of their local newspaper while practicing their basic math skills. The set of 4 newspaper activites has been used individually in a math class or combined with other subject to complete an interdisciplinary unit. Such topics as fractions, decimals and percents, and measurement are reviewed.
