You provide the 10 vocabulary words from your current reading, science or social studies topic and the students take one of these sheets home to complete over the course of a week - one activity a night. Two different forms included, for a total of 8 different vocabulary activities. At the end of the week, students can take the provided vocabulary test.
Nightly vocabulary work will improve reading comprehension for all students, but is especially important for English Language Learners.

I currently teach first grade at an American School in Casablanca, Morocco. Previously, I taught all grade levels in the computer lab at a Title I school in Georgia. I have also taught 3rd grade for 4 years. I student-taught in 3rd grade and Kindergartden. I have taught both high income and low-income school students, and find that no matter where I teach, most kids need to look at every problem from 12 different angles. Although it is challenging, it is also incredibly rewarding.
