Creating Accountable Students and Parents!!!!!!!

Student-Led Conferences, An Overview. . .

"Student-led conferences refers to the process whereby the student plans, implements, conducts and evaluates a conference. It provides a forum in which students can effectively talk about their school work with parents."

"Student led conferences", celebrates student learning. It demands that students take responsibility for their learning and in so doing it promotes the creation of self-motivated learners capable of reflecting critically and constructively on that learning.

Student led conferences are an excellent form of assessment and reporting to parents. They include all the participants in the learning process and provide an opportunity for students, teachers and parents to celebrate their achievements.

Student led conferences:
-help students develop communication skills
-instill the development of confidence and self esteem by the student
-provide a learning experience for teachers - help teachers decide
what skills need to be developed next.
-are less work than a written report and often more meaningful to the
parents.
-inform and involve students about their responsibility in the learning
process.
-help students develop organization, time management and social
skills.
-provide a time to practice and develop goal setting and evaluation
skills.

This is a CD containing a teacher friendly Student-Led Conference manual (approximately 200 pages) in a pdf format. The Manual contains colorful teacher/student friendly pages that will make the conferences a less stressful experience. Teachers are provided tools that they can pass on to their students, leading to a stronger sense of student accountability.

I am unable to post this as a digital product due to the file size restrictions.

This manual is broken down by grade levels, to meet specific needs:
-Kinder/1st
-Elementary Grades (1st-6th)
-Middle School (6th-8th)

If this conference process turns out to be something that you would like to introduce to your grade level team, site, or administration, I also have a detailed powerpoint available to support this process.

This was my Master's Project, and I am always looking ways to perfect it. I am available and open to creating customized pages if desired.

I am very interested in your student led conference packet. However, before spending $20 I would like to actually view some of the pages. Is this possible?
