Wow!! This was a seriously an amazing learning experience for my first graders! This is a step by step guide of how to launch, model, and see non-ficiton writers blossom. I have included pictures of my anchor charts, a mapped out guideline of what to do each day in the unit (whole group, readers workshop, and writers workshop), I can charts for each station, and expectations. Your students will become independent non-ficion writers in 4 weeks. We start will immersion, then modeling, and finally their writing. It was really AWESOME to teach and coach all my non-fiction writers and I know you will share the same experience.
