I created this unit to supplement two areas of our curriculum, introduction of nouns, and beginning concept of story writing. There are over 90 images that can be used as stick puppets, sorting cards, or story element starters. Place the "person, place, thing" cards in different areas of your room and have the students draw a stick puppet out of a bucket, let them move to the area of the room where their image fits. Use the cards in a center for sorting. Then pull them out again when the students are learning to create and tell stories. Will their story be about a diver who finds a sunken pirate ship in the ocean, or a girl race car driver who finds a magic hat in the mountains? Let their imaginations take the the lead.
