Racing for Miles is a wonderful game to reinforce your students concept of nouns, verbs, and adjectives. Students will race around the racetrack trying to avoid hazardous situations. The full-color game includes a game board, cards, score sheets, directions, and a self-correcting answer key. Yes, it is a perfect tool to review nouns, verbs, and adjectives. A teacher can teach content, but until students apply what they have learned that we find out if they have actually grasped the concepts. Game-based learning is terrific for enhancing memory of content! I hope your students have fun playing and learning.

I don't know if it was just me but when I printed the game board, the start space and mile spaces didn't print. It just looked like they were printed somewhat outside the box. Also, the directions say chance card and it's really a pit crew card.

I am a retired 3rd grade teacher with 30 years teaching experience. I have written two books based on language arts and math activities. My other experiences include teaching continuing education online courses for several universities and PBS TeacherLine. These courses are specifically designed for teachers. I have also taught summer school for elementary students and adults. I have given workshops on topics such as Teaching Tools on the Net, Lively Language, How to Write Book Reports and creative writing. I currently teach student teachers at our local university.
