I've created a "What is a noun?" poster set for you!
I've included 1 8.5x11 poster: "What is a noun?"
12 sorting cards for- people
12 sorting cards for- places
12 sorting cards for- things
12 sorting cards for- animals and insects
I've also included individual posters of the following: person, place, thing, and animals/insects- all in BRIGHT polka Dot!- You can laminate each poster, and then use a dry erase marker to list all the nouns on the poster provided. :)
When you are sorting these cards, I've included sorting "headers"- for "person", "place", "thing", "animals/insects".
Some images are a little blurry, but overall it is a really nice set of cards to have. Thanks! will be looking for the verb unit mentioned below.

This activity was a huge hit with my first grade team and the students! We broke it into two mini sorting lessons, people/animals and things/places. Students then completed the activity in centers. Laminate for durability, but great independent activity for students! thank you!

I have an E>L>L Kindergarten this year and this is very helpful. Please let me know of anything you may have for Kindergarten that I could use with E>L>L. I would like to have this for adjectives and verbs as well. Maybe even sorting of 3d shapes vs 2d.

Loved the fonts! Think this will make a great addition to my Word Wall! The pictures are well done!
Ask Tricia Lyday a question. They will receive an automated email and will return to answer you as soon as possible.

Your preview file for the sorting cards do not have words on them. Do the actual files have words on them? As in "nurse" "doctor" etc.

If you think about it animals/insects are not accounted for in saying a noun is a "person, place and thing." When my fellow collegues and I teach nouns we say person, place, thing and animals/insects. Can you add a few animals/insects to complete this packet?
I added 12 sorting cards for animals/insects (6 animal cards and 6 insect cards). I also included the poster for "animals/insects" and a header "animals/insects".
I love teaching my krazy Kinders! I have been blessed with 10 years of teaching experience! I love my job, and my students put a huge smile on my face daily! What a joy it is to teach Kindergarten!
