This is a short unit plan for lit circle novels in grades 7-10. My students are tired of the typical lit circle roles (illuminator, discussion director, etc.) so I changed up this lit circle unit. Students are grouped by fours, each group reads a different novel. Students complete some worksheets and activities independently, and others they pair/team up to collaborate together. This unit includes: pre-reading questionnaire,four reader response journals (retell/relate/reflect) and prompts, character list chart, RAFT writing opportunities, fun vocabulary charts, and a graphic novel storyboarding assignment.
