Number of the Day is an important part of an early years math routine in order to develop number sense. This file includes number of the day activities for each number from 1 to 50. For each number, students will complete five tasks.
Although a variety of different activities are included for each number, all tasks heavily focus on the following skills:
- writing and solving equations
- creating and solving problems
- place value
- representing numbers
- expanded notation
- odd and even
- money
- skip-counting
- greater than/less than/equal to
- number words
- number lines
Although these activities are intended for number of the day, they are also a great addition to any part of a math program. These activities are also useful to leave for substitute teachers.
