Almost everyone knows "The Gift of The Magi," but few know of this delightful western tale of love, jealousy, and the holiday spirit, complete with one of O'Henry's classic surprise endings.
This Wordplay Theatre reading is perfect for English/Humanities classes, ELL, ESL, Drama and Speech, or just for holiday fun! The reading is about 13 minutes in length, suitable from 7th grade and up!

WORDPLAY is the brain child of Thom Bray, who has been an actor and television writer/producer for over 30 years. At the age of 50, he went back to school and got his Masters in Teaching so that he might pass on to young students his love of the arts. In the last 5 years he has taught middle and high school Drama. He also teaches the craft of Television Script Writing on the university level. Wordplay Theatre Company, based in Portland, Oregon, dramatizes classic short stories and poetry, performing live, on stage, and in recordings available through the miracle of the Internet.
