This engaging math workstation activity provides concrete practice in identifying even and odd numbers to 20. Because it goes beyond numbers to 10, students observe place value patterns that will allow them to determine if larger numbers are even or odd.
Contains:
- Teacher notes
- Number cards to 20
- 4 Math Talk cards to encourage mathematical conversations
- A work mat for students to build the numbers with counters and determine if the numbers are even or odd
- A recording sheet to provide accountability at the workstation as students list their numbers as either even or odd and then reorder the list from least to greatest to observe the patterns in the numbers
