This is a great group activity to conduct before reading Oedipus Rex. You break your students up into 7 groups, assign each an aspect of Greek Civilization, provide them with a brief summary of their topic. Then you have each group report their findings to the rest of the class, who take notes on a handout (included).

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Subject Area:
7 years of successful teaching in the Public High School system in NYC. While there, I have taught English to 9th, 10th and 11th graders. In addition I have taught courses in SAT Prep, Media Studies.
