This is a full unit on Of Mice and Men. It is basically broken up into 4 parts.

Part 1: Pre-reading activities (looking at migrant farmers, group discussion about family/friendship and more.

Part 2: Students look closely at characters (main and supporting) using a daily character chart.

Part 3: Students look closely at the concept of 'theme' and identify and discuss themes found in the novel.

Part 4: Essay assignment. Students compare OM+M to another book they have read, all inspired by a famous quote they choose.
