Thanks for stopping by and downloading the One Day-Fun Day Insect Investigation. I made this to go along with the Love Bug Valentine's Day cards that you can find on my science blog littlemisshypothesis.blogspot.com. You can use the search feature on the science blog to find that post with the freebie. Using plastic bugs I purchased from Dollar Tree my students will investigate and discover if they have a true insect or not. The investigation mat is made to be used independently. I am using this activity for Valentine's Day science. I am printing the bug jar Valentine's I mentioned above, that are free on my blog, gluing on the bugs and I will pass them out to my students. Each child will be able to use a hand lens and bug card with the investigation mat to determine if they have a true insect or not. I hope you and your children enjoy our One Day-Fun Day Investigation too. I have taught Kindergarten for 12 years. Originally, I went to school to be a Science teacher. I had always worked with young children in some capacity and thought a change would be good. As I worked my way through school, I had several odd jobs. One job required me to go to a Kindergarten Conference. I didn't want to go at all! Interestingly enough, on day one of the conference I met Clifford the Big Red dog. It reminded me of the Clifford my dad gave me when I was four. And you can pretty much say the rest is history. I graduated with a degree in Science and took my first job as a Kindergarten teacher and I have never looked back since.
