At our open school/house nights I like to involve the parents in our learning, so one of the activities I give them is a pop quiz about their child's interests. The morning of our open house night I have each student complete the answer key page that they will use to grade their parents' responses. On open house night the parents must complete the 5 questions without asking for help, then they write a short note to their child on the back. The next morning my students read their notes and then grade their parents' answers. We have a good laugh over the responses and then they bring it home to share with their families. It's a fun way to get parents and students involved together in the learning process. It's also a good way to help parents appreciate the interests of their children. You can modify the questions to fit the needs of your students.
