The time frame is appoximate; it matched with my 90-minute block periods and a 55-minute daily period. Add more days as you need them.; the time frame is flexible. Stretch or condense it to suit your needs. Here is one idea: at the beginning of the unit, give the students each a packet with all of the activity sheets. Plan for 2-3 days for the review before the test. On the first review day, divide the students into groups and assign each one a different activity (not the projects, though). Tell them that each group will be the expert on the information on their activity. Give them 15-20 minutes to prepare (allow this prep time only on the first review day). Next, have each group present their material and then have the other students ask the experts questions to clarify any information for them. You can give them a specific time limit or not. Use as many review days as you need to let the groups present. On the last day, hopefully you will have set aside time to come together as a whole class for any questions/concerns that students still need explained. I hope that this helps.

I am a recently retired (2011) English teacher in the Fairfax County Virginia public school system, where I taught English 12, Journalism 1,2,3 & 4 and Creative Writing 1, 2, & 3. As a result of the Teacher Performance Evaluation instituted by the county, I was awarded the prestigious Career Two Exemplary level status three times. Besides the public high school venue, my teaching background includes an alternative secondary school for behaviorally disadvantaged adolescents, an adolescent psychiatric hospital, and a boys' reform school. Proud of my choice to be an educator, I have always hated the cliche, "Those that can, do; those that can't teach." Through my writing and my role modeling in the classroom, I show that not only do I teach, but I also practice what I preach.
