Students will take turns drawing a card to read a nonsense word. Students will keep each word read correctly. But wait...there is a twist! If a student draws a sun card, he/she has to return all of the cards to the pile. Play continues until all cards are gone; the winner is the player with the most cards. (6 nonsense words per vowel.)
Use this game with your kindergarten or first grade students as well as second and third grade student who may need more short vowel work.
This game is perfect for small group intervention practice using the RTI model. Make decoding fun by playing this alien theme game!
